One of the most noticeable mechanics Age of Empires IV is the lists of pseudo-achievements called masteries. The French Mastery list encourages players to explore all the mechanics of the French Civilization, with special focus on one of their strongest units: the Royal Knights.
Upon completion of each task in the French Mastery list, you are rewarded with 1000 experience points and you unlock information about the history of people, places, and things that influenced the course of history for France.
