With every major update to Minecraft comes new mobs. Some of them serve a purpose to Survival Mode players, while others are just there to terrify or attack them. Whatever their purpose, we have the complete list here for you!
All Hostile and Non-Hostile Minecraft Mobs
Because there are so many different mobs, we’ve split them into their most defining categories. Along with their names, we have provided some additional information that may be helpful. We know, we know: if only we’d fight them for you ;). The categories for all the mobs are shown in the following list.
- Hostile Passive Neutral Boss
Hostile Mobs
Hostile Mobs are inherently aggressive to the player. They will not spawn on Peaceful Mode.

Evoker HP: 24 Notes: Spawns only in Raids or Woodland Mansions Ghast HP: 10 Notes: Spawns only in Nether;‘Does not spawn in Crimson Forests or Warped Forests. Their fireballs can be deflected back at them. Guardian HP: 30 Notes: Spawns only in/near Ocean Monuments Hoglin HP: 40 Notes: Spawns only in Crimson Forests. Husk HP: 20 Notes: A version of a Zombie that spawns only in Desert Biomes. Magma Cube HP: 16 Notes: Spawns only in Nether. Phantom HP: 20 Notes: Spawns at night only if Player has not made their character rest (sleep in a bed) for at least one real-world hour. Piglin Brute HP: 50 Notes: Spawns only in Bastion Remnants Pillager HP: 24 Notes: Spawns in Raids, Patrols, and Outposts. Passive if it has no crossbow equipped. Ravager HP: 100 Notes: Spawns only in Raids starting at Waves 3, 5, and 7. Ravager Jockey HP: Ravager: 100 Jockey: 24 Notes: Spawns only during Raids. Shulker HP: 30 Notes: Spawns only during generation of End Cities. Silverfish HP: 8 Notes: Spawns only from Infested Blocks. Do not appear if Infested Block is broken with Silk Touch. Skeleton HP: 20 Notes: Can spawn in every Biome in the Overworld except Mushroom Fields. Skeleton Horseman HP: 20 Notes: Spawns only from Skeleton Trap Horses when Players enter a 10 block radius to it. Slime HP: Big: 20 Medium: 4 Small: 1 Notes: Spawns only in Slime Chunks. Big and Medium Slimes break into Medium and Small Slimes when killed, respectively. Spider Jockey HP: Jockey: 20 Spider: 16 Cave Spider: 12 Notes: 1% chance for a Spider to spawn with a Jockey. Stray HP: 20 Notes: Alternate version of a Skeleton that only spawns in Cold Biomes. Vex HP: 14 Notes: Spawns only from an Evoker’s summoning attack. Vindicator HP: 24 Notes: Spawns in Woodland Mansions, Patrols, and Raids. Witch HP: 26 Notes: Swamp Huts always spawn a witch during world generation. Can also spawn randomly at night in any Overworld Biome except Mushroom Fields. Wither Skeleton HP: 20 Notes: Spawns only in Nether Fortresses. Zoglin HP: 40 Notes: Spawns only when a Hoglin enters the Overworld. Zombie HP: 20 Notes: One of the most common Hostile mobs. Burns in Sunlight. Zombie Villager HP: 20 Notes: Can spawn naturally or when a Zombie kills a Villager. Can be cured to a normal Villager if under the Weakness effect and given a Golden Apple.
Passive Mobs

HP: 20 Notes: One of the most common Hostile mobs. Burns in Sunlight.
HP: 20 Notes: Can spawn naturally or when a Zombie kills a Villager. Can be cured to a normal Villager if under the Weakness effect and given a Golden Apple.
Passive Mobs do not attack the player under any circumstance. They may attempt to run away if they’re attacked.

Cat HP: 10 Notes: Spawns only in Villages and Swamp Huts. Tameable and Breedable. Chicken HP: 4 Notes: Spawns only in Grassy Biomes. Breedable. Lays eggs. Cod HP: 3 Notes: Spawns only in Oceans. Can be held in a Water Bucket. Cow HP: 10 Notes: Spawns in Grassy Biomes. Source of Leather. Breedable. Donkey HP: 15 - 30 Notes: Spawns only in Plains and Savannas. Tameable and rideable. Can be equipped with Chests. Fox HP: 10 Notes: Spawns only in Taiga Biomes. Breedable. Horse HP: 15-30 Notes: Spawns only in Plains and Savannahs. Rideable, breedable, and tameable. Mooshroom HP: 10 Notes: Spawns only in Mushroom Fields. Breedable. Can be milked with Bowls to get Mushroom Stew. Mule HP: 15-30 Notes: Spawns by breeding a Horse and a Donkey. Rideable and tameable. Ocelot HP: 10 Notes: Spawns only in Jungles. Breedable. Can see players with Invisibility effect. Parrot HP: 6 Notes: Spawns only in Jungles. Breedable and tameable. Dances to Jukebox music! Pig HP: 10 Notes: Can be ridden and directed with Saddle and Carrot on a Stick. Breedable. Pufferfish HP: 3 Notes: Passive mobs, but can inflict poison if Player goes near it when it’s puffed. Rabbit HP: 3 Notes: The type of rabbit that spawns depends on the Biome. Passive mobs, but can spawn as the variant Killer Bunny, which are hostile. Salmon HP: 3 Notes: Spawns only in cold Oceans, Rivers, and Frozen Rivers. Sheep HP: 8 Notes: Spawns in Grassy Biomes. Can be sheered for Wool. Breedable. Skeleton Horse HP: 15 Notes: Spawns only from Skeleton Traps, which can happen during a lightning strike. Snow Golem HP: 4 Notes: Spawns by being built with blocks. Squid HP: 10 Notes: Spawns only in water. Source of Ink Sacs. Strider HP: 20 Notes: Spawns only in the Nether. Can walk on Lava. Rideable, and can be directed by a Warped Fungus on a Stick. Tropical Fish HP: 3 Notes: Spawns only in Oceans. Can be carried in a Water Bucket. Turtle HP: 30 Notes: Spawns only on Beaches during the Day. Baby Turtles drop a Scute when they grow into Adult Turtles. Villager HP: 20 Notes: Spawns only in Villages. Can trade. Certain conditions set by the player can force Villagers to spawn. Wandering Trader HP: 20 Notes: Spawns and approaches Player’s location randomly. Can trade.
Neutral Mobs
Neutral Mobs may be either passive or hostile, depending on the situation. Some of them become hostile when attacked and others become hostile if certain conditions are met.
HP: 16 Notes: Spawns only in the Nether.
HP: 30 Notes: Spawns only in Cold Biomes.
HP: 6 Notes: Spawns only in Caves.
HP: 10 Notes: Spawns only in Villages and Swamp Huts. Tameable and Breedable.
HP: 4 Notes: Spawns only in Grassy Biomes. Breedable. Lays eggs.
HP: 3 Notes: Spawns only in Oceans. Can be held in a Water Bucket.
HP: 10 Notes: Spawns in Grassy Biomes. Source of Leather. Breedable.
HP: 15 - 30 Notes: Spawns only in Plains and Savannas. Tameable and rideable. Can be equipped with Chests.
HP: 10 Notes: Spawns only in Taiga Biomes. Breedable.

Bee HP: 10 Notes: Attacks the player if another nearby Bee is attacked, Honey is collected, or a Beehive is destroyed. Cave Spider HP: 12 Notes: Become hostile and stay hostile if they see the Player in light level less than 9. Can climb walls and spawn Spider Jockeys. Dolphin HP: 10 Notes: Spawn only in the ocean. Grants speed boost to players that swim or sail near them. Enderman HP: 40 Notes: Can teleport and move blocks. Becomes hostile if Player looks at the upper half of their body. Iron Golem HP: 100 Notes: Spawns in Villages, or when build by the player with blocks. Becomes Hostile if player has -15 popularity with a village. Never Hostile if built by a Player. Llama HP: 15-30 Notes: Can be use to move items. Tameable. Becomes hostile and spits at players that attack it. Piglin HP: 16 Notes: Spawns only in Nether Wastes, Crimson Forests, and Bastion Remnants. Hostile towards Players unless they are equipped with at least one piece of Gold Armor. Panda HP: 20 Notes: Becomes Hostile if attacked. Breedable. Polar Bear HP: 30 Notes: Spawns only in Cold Biomes. Becomes hostile if Cubs are present or when provoked. Spider HP: 16 Notes: Becomes and stays hostile if they see the player in light level 7 or less. Wolf HP: Wild: 8 Tamed: 20 Notes: Becomes hostile if attacked by the player. Tameable and breedable. Zombified Piglin HP: 20 Notes: Spawns in Nether Wastes, Crimson Forests, Nether Portals, lightning-struck Pigs, or from Piglin/Piglin Brutes entering the Overworld. Becomes hostile if it sees another Zombified Piglin get attacked.
Boss Mobs
HP: 10 Notes: Attacks the player if another nearby Bee is attacked, Honey is collected, or a Beehive is destroyed.
HP: 12 Notes: Become hostile and stay hostile if they see the Player in light level less than 9. Can climb walls and spawn Spider Jockeys.
HP: 10 Notes: Spawn only in the ocean. Grants speed boost to players that swim or sail near them.

HP: 20 Notes: Spawns in Nether Wastes, Crimson Forests, Nether Portals, lightning-struck Pigs, or from Piglin/Piglin Brutes entering the Overworld. Becomes hostile if it sees another Zombified Piglin get attacked.
Boss Mobs are always hostile, but only accessible by intentionally searching for or building them. These mobs are the only mobs with a boss bar that displays at the top of the screen.
- Ender Dragon HP: 200 Notes: Spawns only in The End. Can be re-summoned. Wither HP: 300 Notes: Spawns only when built by the Player with blocks.
