Minecraft Caves & Cliffs Part 2 brought several new biome types to Minecraft, and a good chunk of them are all sub-biomes that you can find as part of the new and improved mountains. Mountains are made up of three parts: base, slopes, and peak.

Each part of the mountain will take on a different biome type, and depending on the temperature, the type within each section can vary. Goats can be around various sub-biomes, and they spawn in Frozen Peaks, Jagged Peaks, and Snowy Slopes. Here is every mountain biome in Minecraft Caves and Cliffs: Part 2.

Frozen Peaks

Grove

  • Biome spawn location: Mountain SlopeStandout Feature(s): Spruce Trees

Jagged Peaks

  • Biome spawn location: Mountain Peak (cold or neutral)Standout Feature(s): Stone and snow blend

Meadow

  • Biome spawn location: Mountain BaseStandout Feature(s): Trees, grass, and flowers

Snowy Slopes

  • Biome spawn location: Mountain SlopeStandout Feature(s): Greater snow coverage

Stony Peaks
