Marvel announced All-Out Avengers, a new series from Derek Landy and Greg Land that launches this September. The all-new Avengers series is heavy on the action. It places readers right in the middle of an Avengers mission with no time for questions. The pulse-pounding series announced at this year’s Fan Expo Philadelphia takes readers on a wild ride. However, you will need to keep up as you race through the explosive action to reach the shocking climax.

All-Out Avengers Sounds Crazy…Tell Me More!

Award-winning writer Derek Landy, who recently worked on the limited series Captain America & Iron Man, is tackling this action-packed series. Joining him is legendary Marvel artist Greg Land to bring the adventure to life. Unlike traditional comics, this series begins right in the middle of all the action. Kicking off on page one, the Avengers are knee-deep in an adventure. There is no building conflict, no explanations, and no setup.

It begins with an alien attack and a missing piece of wormhole technology. Next, a city is warped away, and all its citizens are transformed into hideous creatures. To make matters worse, those creatures are loyal to an Empress from the galaxy’s far reaches. Meanwhile, Captain Marvel calls upon her fellow Avengers to help her stop this Empress.

What Do The Creators Have To Share?

Speaking to Marvel, Derek Landy shares that Tom Brevoort approached him for the concept of All-Out Avengers. When he heard the idea, he thought it was “an inspired idea, a slice of creative genius, and totally unworkable.” However, the chance to launch a new Avengers title was too great to miss. Plus, with Greg Land on art, Landy says his “fate was pretty much sealed.”

However, Landy feels the series needs something to “drag the reader from issue to issue.” That hook is to put the Avengers in the same situation. Readers and superheroes know something is happening, but they don’t understand why.

Meanwhile, artist Greg Land is fresh off his run on Symbiote Spider-Man. After reading the script for the first issue of All-Out Avengers, Land knew it “was going to be a fun and challenging project.” Of course, he hopes that readers can see “the excitement in the artwork and all-out action (pun intended).”

All-Out Avengers #1 is on sale on September 7th.
