Episode four of Life is Strange is definitely not for the faint of heart. Some of the photos taken in the chapter are extremely impressive but also precede horrible events. This is arguably Chloe and Max’s most important episode, so we better help you concentrate, so you get everything, right?
The Dark Room episode, like its predecessors, has 10 photos to take. Here is where to snap them.
Photograph 1
The first photo for this episode will occur once you have returned to the original reality of the present day (in-game). Once the cutscene has ended, stand behind Chloe to get a picture of her sitting at the desk. Max really seems to have a thing for secret photos.
Photograph 2
After arriving back in Chloe’s room, you will need to go to the garage to get more intel from David’s locker (that’s David’s, not Davey’s). Head towards the garage door to the left to find a plank of wood hiding some little eggs in a nest. Move the board and then take the picture.
You may want to move the board back afterward or rewind if you want to leave them undisturbed.
Photograph 3
Whilst on your way to snoop around the dormitories you will find yourself back in the courtyard. Head over near the Tobanga Totem, and you will find a cairn near some shrubbery. Point your camera at it and take the shot to expand your portfolio.
Photograph 4
After photographing the cairn, go over to Samuel, sitting on a bench next to Ms. Grant. Strike up a conversation with him and choose animals and then squirrels when prompted. This will provoke Samuel to feed the nearby squirrels.
Initially, only one squirrel will run to the food, with another hanging back shyly. Go to the food packet next to Samuel and lure the second squirrel in with some treats. Wait a few seconds, and he will then join his friend. Snap the picture of this little bushy tailed duo.
Photograph 5
Before heading into Nathan’s room to see some surprising revelations, there will be another photograph to take. When you have entered the boy’s dormitory, follow the corridor around to the right. Look out of the window, and you will get the chance at a bigfoot photo.
Photograph 6
After the showdown with Nathan (and possible beating), you will speak with Frank. Once you have arrived at the beachhead over to the barriers where you can see some poor, beached whales. Position yourself by the middle whale, and you’ll be able to take a photo, a sad one…
Photograph 7
Figuring out Nathan’s whereabouts on the night of the Vortex Party will lead you to a barn. When you have arrived, walk Max around to the left-hand side near the fence. You will find another friend of flight perched on a post.
You will be prompted to take a picture, but he will escape when Max is too close, like the squirrel from the previous episode. You will have to use your rewind powers to bring him back into place.
Photograph 8
Once you have gained access to the barn and looked around a bit you will find yourself on the upper level. Go straight forward from where you have climbed up to find a wise owl behind some boxes. He doesn’t say anything, but he also doesn’t object to you taking his picture.
Photograph 9
This cool and apocalyptic shot will be available once you have entered the Vortex Club party. After going through the curtains past the cloakroom, turn immediately right and follow the curtain around. Look up at the windows, and once the moons are framed, you can take this foreboding picture.
Photograph 10
The final picture of this episode will also be taken during the party. Make your way through the crowd and into the bathroom, which is just before the VIP lounge. Turn left to find Justin lining up with some skeleton graffiti. You can take this nicely framed shot when given the prompt.
