In Dune: Spice Wars, players start their journey on the harsh desert planet of Arrakis after choosing one of the four Factions available in the Early Access period. You will come across various resources while exploring the desert, and each of them has a specific function in the game. We have played as all the four Factions during the Early Access, and players will need to know how to manage the following resources to gain dominance over others in Dune: Spice Wars.

Spice

Spice is the most valuable substance in the Universe, and it is found in abundance on Arrakis. Players can trade it with other Factions, sell it for Solari via CHAOM Contract, and keep it in Stockpile for paying Imperial Tax in Dune: Spice Wars.

Agent

Agents are required for Espionage operations and missions and are key for infiltrating enemy Factions. Agents can often get captured by enemy Factions, and in turn, can be traded as well. Players can unlock more Agents for their Faction by completing the Intelligence Network tree in Developments.

Authority

Authority represents a Faction’s leadership and reaches over the Regions of Arrakis. Authority is one of the prerequisites for taking control of any Village, and it is a non-tradable resource in Dune: Spice Wars. Players can construct the Administrative Hall in their Main Base to get a +30% Authority production. Similarly, trading with Sietches, developing Relationship Levels with other Factions, and having Agents positioned in neighboring Regions will increase Authority production.

Fuel Cells

Fuel Cells are the main power sources used on Arrakis. These are required to operate vehicles like Harvesters, and also in a few buildings. Fuel Cells are non-tradable resources, which means players cannot get these from other Factions when you fall into a deficit.

The only way to get more is by harvesting Fuel Cells, and players need to construct a Fuel Cell Factory. These Factories have an upkeep of +8 Solari and +4 Plascrete. It is ideal to build the Fuel Cell Factory near Energy Source, allowing +50% overall production.

Influence

Influence is the currency that can be spent to strengthen your Faction’s Votes for the Landsraad Resolutions. Influence can be traded between all the other Factions, and can also be produced by constructing specific buildings. You can construct Listening Posts to gain a +2 Influence production.

Similarly, players will be able to construct a few buildings in their Main Base to increase Influence. For instance, construct a Council Chamber to get +30% Influence production that allows spending Influence to cancel resolutions applied to your faction. Another building is the Embassy which adds +2 Influence production and gives a +20% bonus to production based on relationship level with other Factions.

Intel

Intel is a necessary resource that can be stocked up to 1000 units. It can be traded between all the Factions and is important for carrying out Operations. Intel allows players to carry out various Espionage missions by gaining key information over rival Factions. You can construct Data Centers in Villages to get a +2 Intel production. Similarly, players can construct the Intelligence Agency at their Main Base to get 20% more Intel production from Agents.

Manpower

Manpower is the human resource in Dune: Spice Wars, and it’s required to train soldiers and crew members to manage transport vehicles. Specific Villages will have the Strong-Willed and Way of the Desert traits which allows players to train indigenous troops to increase the overall Manpower.

To increase Manpower, players will have to construct Recruitment Centers in various Villages. It is ideal to build the Recruitment Center at Villages with the aforementioned traits. Players will also have to build a Recruitment Center at their Main Base to massively increase Manpower production.

Plascrete

Plascrete is a versatile and highly required resource in Dune: Spice Wars. It is required at a great cost for all aspects of construction. Plascrete can also be traded between all the other Factions. To start Plascrete production, players will need to create Plascrete Factories in various Villages. Regions with Minerals are ideal for harvesting Plascrete, as they give a +50% boost to production.

Solari

Solari is the official currency unit of the Imperium, and it is one of the most important resources in Dune: Spice Wars. It’s required for several purposes and can be traded between all the Factions. Players can also trade Spice for Solari via the CHAOM Contract based on their Faction’s Landsraad Standing.

Regions with Rare Elements are ideal for extracting Solari. Players will have to construct a Processing Plant in the nearby Village to start Solari conversion from Rare Elements. Similarly, some Villages will have Merchants who will add +3 Solari production to the overall income.

All buildings will use Solari and/or Plascrete for upkeep, which is why players need to build Maintenance Centers at Villages with more buildings to reduce and streamline the upkeep. Similarly, gaining a Special Region like Well of Riches allows players to get +100% Processing Plant resource production, as well as +500 Hegemony.

You will start the game with 0 Spice and will have to set up Refineries in Villages near Spice Fields. Once that’s done, deploy Harvesters at these Spice Fields to start Spice Production. Players can also hire Crews that can be attributed to Harvesters to increase Spice production. You can hire upto three Crew members by spending Manpower.

Water

Water is one of the rarest resources in Dune: Spice Wars, and it is required primarily for supplying controlled Villages. It is also a prerequisite to taking control of any Village, or trade with Sietches. Water cannot be traded between Factions and needs to be harvested.

Players can construct Windtraps at Villages with high Wind Strength. Windtraps give +3 productions for every level of Wind Strength in each Region. You can also construct a Water Extractor at Special Regions like Polar Sink to get a +50 Water production for your Faction.
