PlayStation Plus was first introduced back during the PS3 era, though back then it was based solely around providing extra content like free games each month. However, with the PS4 launch brought the requirement of PS Plus to play online at all on the new console, which was recently upped in price, but one retailer is holding a sale that has the original pricing for a 12 month subscription.
For a number of years now, a 12 month subscription for PS Plus retailed for $49.99, with a three month being $17.99. Late last month though, it was announced by Sony that the price for PS Plus would be increasing to $59.99 for a 12 month, and $24.99 for a three month. This put it exactly on par with the 12 month and 3 month costs for Xbox Live Gold, so it wasn’t a huge surprise, but still disappointed many PlayStation platform owners.
There is no telling how long this sale price will last, so if you need to renew your PS Plus soon, you may want to go ahead and pick this up now while it’s at the old price. If not, you’ll have to wait for some other potential sales in the future.
