Recently, circulating reports that actress Amber Heard was cut from the Aquaman sequel and her character, Mera, would be recast made the rounds. However, that is not the case if one should believe the words of the 36-year-old’s spokesperson. On Tuesday, June 14, Amber’s spokesperson told ET that the rumor about her dismissal from the DC movie is inaccurate. Amber’s rep said:

Amber Heard And Aquaman

Amber starred in the original Aquaman alongside the movie’s main star, Jason Momoa. The film’s sequel Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom is in production and set to premiere in 2023. However, rumors and speculations about Amber’s involvement in the upcoming movie have been swirling amid her much-discussed trial with her ex-husband and actor Johnny Depp.

During court proceedings, Amber denied the claims that Johnny helped her get a role in the movie. Meanwhile, Johnny’s lawyers played DC-based film productions for Warner Bros. President Walter Hamada’s previous deposition as a rebuttal against some of Amber’s team’s claims. In the clip, Walter alleged that Amber and Jason’s chemistry in Aquaman was not real. He also claimed there were concerns about her being the right fit for the role.

The Aftermath Of Amber And Johnny’s Trial

Amber and Johnny’s trial ended earlier this month. The jury ruled in Johnny’s favor and awarded him $10.4 million in punitive and compensatory damages. Meanwhile, Amber was awarded $2 million in compensatory damages for her counterclaim.

While Johnny has been enjoying life since the jury’s verdict, Amber feels let down by it and has made her feelings known. Recently, she appeared in an interview on the Today show and stood by the words she said in her testimony. During the interview, Amber Heard maintained that Johnny hit her and said she believed social media helped him win the case.

Meanwhile, an insider revealed Amber’s interview with Today is the beginning of what is to come from the actress following her publicized trial with Johnny. According to the source, Amber feels more optimistic now and has a plan and strategy to make a comeback over the next year. Only time will tell what the actress will do eventually.

As for whether she will star in the Aquaman sequel, one can only wait to see future developments before concluding.
