Seth MacFarlane, Mike Barker, and Matt Weitzman’s long-running animated series American Dad! Celebrates its 15thanniversary this year, and TBS has announced a special marathon in honor of this significant milestone.
Starting the following week, on Tuesday, April 14, and over the course of two weeks (starting at 4 p.m. ET/PT), each member of the Smith family – will be getting a special episode each centered on them – with Steve getting two.
These episodes handpicked by series co-creator Matt Weitzman will air between April 14-17 and April 21-24, with the 15thanniversary marathon airing the following Monday, April 27, with Weitzman’s top 15 favorite episodes.
The first three days of this celebration will be dedicated to Stan, Francine, and Hayley, followed by Steve on April 17. Then Klaus and Jeff take center stage on Tuesday, April 21, and Wednesday, April 22, while Steve makes a return appearance with “Mr. Ricky Spanish” himself on April 23 before the mini-marathons wrap up with Roger’s episode on Friday, April 24.
Starting Monday, April 27, at 2:30 p.m, Weitzman offers up his choices for the top-15 episodes of all time, beginning with Lincoln Lover. This episode introduces Stan to the Langley Falls Log Cabin Republicans, which Weitzman considers “probably the best “political” episode we did.”
He finishes off his top 15 list with Rabbit Ears, where Stan gets obsessed with a 1960s television show, and Roger decides to live as a baby.
Celebrating another major milestone, it’s 300thepisode this September, American Dad has already been renewed for an additional two seasons and returns on. Monday, April 13, with a new stretch of episodes that kicks off the anniversary party the next day.
The long-running series stars Seth MacFarlane (Stan, Roger), Wendy Schaal (Francine), Scott Grimes (Steve), Rachael MacFarlane (Hayley), Dee Bradley Baker(Klaus), Jeff Fischer (Jeff), and Patrick Stewart (Bullock).
The upcoming season is also set to have guest stars such as Jane Lynch, Patton Oswalt, Ron Perlman, Craig Robinson, Criss Angel, Bill Nye, and The Weeknd ( who also co-wrote the episode they appear in).
The show continues to rank as a top-five cable comedy and has proven to be a big hit since moving from FOX to TBS in 2014, with the most recent season drawing in nearly 18 million viewers.
