There’s an infinite number of classic settings and themes you could link to the horror genre, and the American Horror Story franchise has certainly explored a fair few. They’ve even managed to create a spin-off show, called American Horror Stories, which has explored a different story every episode. We’ve found out that American Horror Stories has been renewed, and there will be a second season, as confirmed by FX and Hulu.

American Horror Stories is the smaller cousin of American Horror Story, as it centers on a smaller story each episode, rather than the overarching plot of its parent series. It shares its creators with the other series, as Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuk return to the producers’ chairs. The last episode of American Horror Stories airing next week on Thursday will tie into the latest series of American Horror Story (these names can get easily confused I imagine), titled “Double Feature”. That season will premiere later this month on August 25, while season 2 of American Horror Stories will likely debut in 2022. FX also mentioned that season 1 of American Horror Stories was the most successful launch of any FX show on Hulu to date.
FX has been on a bit of a renewal streak recently. During FX’s segment of the summer Television Critics’ Awards 2021, they announced the renewal of both American Horror Stories and What We Do in the Shadows, with the latter getting its fourth season in 2022.
Alongside the two horror-focused series, American Crime Stories is on its way to screens, with the “Impeachment” series focusing on a certain president. Not the one you might be thinking of, however, as it revolves around the scandal between Bill Clinton and Monica Lewinsky.
