American McGee’s Alice will be heading to the silver screen with a new adaptation from Radar Pictures. X2: X-Men United and The Scorpion King writer David Hayter has signed on as the series’ writer. Yes, that David Hayter. The man who voiced one of gaming’s most iconic characters, Solid Snake.

American McGee’s twisted Wonderland
The drama series has no broadcast or streaming platform announced yet, but it is in development. There is also no cast announced at this time.
According to reports, the story will begin after Alice returns from the trip to the Looking-Glass. Upon returning, she finds her house burnt down, and her parents have died from the fire. Alice finds herself wasting away in a mental institution. After some time, the White Rabbit summons her back to Wonderland.
However, the Wonderland Alice comes back to is not the same. It has become both dark and twisted. To free both Wonderland and her mind, Alice has to fight back against the evil that plagues it.
In a statement to The Hollywood Reporter, David Hayter had this to say.
The TV adaptation is a collaboration between Radar Pictures, Abandon Entertainment, and Hayter. Anthony Tringali, Maria Frisk, Michael Napoliello, Karen Lauder, and Marcus Ticotin will also share producer credits.
What the future holds
In the past, American McGee has worked on games like DOOM and Quake. However, it’s the twisted version of Lewis Carroll’s classic fairy tale that he is most known for. Currently, McGee is working on a sequel titled Alice: Asylum.
