New features confirmed via Twitter.

The Among Us official Twitter account has confirmed that there is a new accessibility feature coming soon in the next patch.

For a while now, fans of the game have been asking for fixes to make the game more accessible on different platforms, and it seems that developers Innersloth have taken this on board. In recent years, accessibility issues have been taken into consideration by more and more companies, which opens gaming up to people who previously were unable to enjoy it.

Among Us will be expecting a new patch soon, which allows the use of keyboard and mouse inputs simultaneously. This was confirmed on Among Us’ own Twitter account, in response to renowned Twitch streamer Steven Spohn asking them if they could include it. Almost immediately the Among Us account responded asking for confirmation of what he meant and mentioned it would be available in the next patch. There has been no date given for this patches release at this time.

Released in 2018, the game found fame during the COVID-19 lockdowns, and through many streamers picking up the game on Twitch. The small price tag and multiplayer madness meant anyone and everyone could play together. The game got so popular that even Fortnite sought to copy its terminology and game mode.

Innersloth has treated Among Us to regular patches since it’s mammoth success over the last two years. Among Us‘ previous patches include gameplay updates like larger lobbies for up to 15 players, new skin colours and the latest map – The Airship. And this was only in June! Previously, creators added a quick chat function (with an underage option), color-blind friendly shapes were added to the wires task, along with showing character accessories in meetings instead of just colors.

Among Us is available now on Nintendo Switch, PC, Android, and iOS.
