Among Us has had quite the year, being in the spotlight for its unique gameplay. Focusing on the deduction phase of the game, Among Us became increasingly popular on live streams due to the pandemic separating and isolating many. Developer InnerSloth has discussed their plans for future updates coming to Among Us, and finally, we have a better idea of what that will look like. Discussing some of the more important updates coming to the title like accounts and friends lists, InnerSloth has finally shared their new update coming to Among Us. Showcased at The Game Awards, the new update comes with a brand new map based on the Henry Stickmin Series.
☀️ THE AIRSHIP – A new map coming early 2021 ☀️
Prepare yourselves, crewmates. This upcoming (free!) map will include:? all new tasks? your choice of what room to start in? ladders?!? and more?
But don’t forget about those Impostors lurking around… pic.twitter.com/IU2HJGuyEY

Following in the theme of Henry Stickmin: Escape The Airship, the gigantic red ship shares most of its elements with many other maps in the title with many familiar locations. Despite that, there is a new element to the exploration with a floating platform that transports a player on the outside of the map. Even moving up and down the map with the newly added ladders makes the choices you make that much deeper. Players can even choose different rooms to start in, mixing up the groups of crewmates. In terms of time management and decision making, the new map shakes up some of the exploration quite well. The map also features all-new tasks like swiping the mouse to take out the trash or cleaning a jewel. Showing a new death animation referencing a Henry Stickmin villain, the laser beam death is hopefully one of some new skin-specific animations. Despite the release window targeting January 2021, the map is sure to be a great shake-up to the strategy in Among Us.
