The team behind the hit multiplayer game Among Us has come out and teased the next update for the game in their July dev log on Steam. Among Us is a multi-platform game that spans both consoles and mobile devices and has seemingly taken the world by storm since its release on all platforms. In the game, an “imposter” must eliminate all the other players one by one and evade capture by the rest of the players. Among Us also allows for cross-platform play.
Among Us Update: What’s to Come
Here is what was teased by the development team for the next update for Among Us on Steam.
- New Cosmicube! ? You’ve been wanting more cosmetics and ways to spend your Stars and Beans, and don’t worry, something is coming. It’s a secret for now but let’s just say it’ll be delicious.
- Automatic game error reporting. This is more of a backend fix that you won’t see, but it’s cool enough to note! Essentially we’re implementing a system that alerts us if certain platforms or devices are experiencing weird crashes or other errors, which helps us pinpoint bugs to fix more easily. One step closer to getting an in-game bug reporting feature, wooOOOoOOo.
- The ability to change the map in the lobby settings without having to leave and start a new game.
- Small store and inventory redesigns, bug fixes, and more improvements. Keep an eye out!
Many of these were general updates and improvements that were planned for the previous update. There is no date or timeframe for the update, but the development team does say that their plan after the next update is to get Hide n Seek out. They also state that they have a lot of plans for it, so make sure to stay tuned for when it finally drops!
