Amy Winehouse’s biopic resumes filming in London with Marisa Abela portraying the singer, but fans are not pleased. They are clamoring for the deceased to rest in peace.

After receiving permission from the Winehouse estate to produce a film after the deceased singer’s life, the movie powerhouse StudioCanal teamed up with a group of experienced hands to bring it to life. Amy Winehouse’s biopic is being produced by Alison Owen, Debra Hayward, and Tracey Seaward, and directed by Sam Taylor-Johnson, with Marisa Abela, an Essex native playing the rock star.

According to a source from Winehouse’s camp, the biopic will focus mainly on Amy’s musical prowess, but it will not fail to show her struggles before her untimely death in 2011. The production has remained true to these words, as photos from its London street filming show Abela acting hysterical as she played the singer Blake Fielder-Civil’s arrest.

Though Abela appears to have played the part excellently—with tattoo and hairstyle resembling Amy, fans are not willing to accept a replay of the Back to Black singer’s life; however, Amy Winehouse’s biopic has spurred a group of ‘loyals’ to shut down the film even before production is concluded.

Amy Winehouse’s Biopic Is a No-No for fans

He went on about Eddie Marsan, who stars as Amy’s dad on screen, explaining that many actors do not look like the real-life stars they play.
