Of the many upcoming Disney projects, the live-action remake of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs is one of the most anticipated for the studio, and it appears the movie is already off to a good start. According to a new report from Deadline, Andrew Burnap has been cast as the male lead for Snow White. It is also being reported that Burnap will not play a prince or huntsman — like in other versions of the Snow White story. Andrew Burnap will instead play a new type of male lead for Disney’s live-action Snow White.

Burnap is joining a star-studded cast and crew for Disney’s live-action Snow White. The titular role of Snow White is being played by Rachel Zegler, who recently wowed audiences in her Golden Globe-winning performance in Steven Spielberg’s West Side Story. However, every great Snow White needs a compelling Evil Queen. For Zegler, this role in the movie has been filled by Gal Gadot.

This new adaptation of Disney’s first animated classic is being helmed by director Marc Webb. It will also feature original songs from Benji Pasek and Justin Paul, who provided award-winning music to movies like La La Land and The Greatest Showman. The duo also wrote “Speechless”, a popular addition to Disney’s live-action version of Aladdin.

Andrew Burnap should have no trouble singing an original song or two in this new version of the Snow White story. The actor is primarily known for his stage work. Burnap even earned a Tony award last year for his role as Toby Darling in the show The Inheritance. However, Burnap has done some work on movie sets as well. He appeared in the indie films Spare Room and The Chaperone. He is also set to star alongside Andrew Garfield in the upcoming Hulu series, Under the Banner of Heaven.
