Angelina Jolie Has Lots of Experience Playing Roles Based on Real People
From Christine Collins in Changeling to Gia Carangi in Gia, Angelina Jolie has a lot of biopic experience. Jolie did land in hot water for playing the woman of color (which Jolie is not) Mariane van Neyenhoff Pearl in the film A Mighty Heart. Fortunately, Angelina Jolie as the opera singer Maria Callas in the Pablo Larraín biopic Maria is not a repeat of that. Jolie has wanted to work with Larraín for a while, and the Maria Callas film is her chance. Angelina Jolie has made a name for herself as an actor and director. She’s currently working on her fifth film as a director, Without Blood. The actor and director has always fully committed herself to her roles; critics will wait in anticipation for her portrayal of Callas in Maria. They will also see how Pablo Larraín will bring the opera singer to life again with the biopic.
There is no release date for Larraín’s film Maria.
