Animal Crossing: New Horizons 2.0 update adds a new feature that lets you cook a variety of recipes using various ingredients found all over your Island. Before you can start making your favorite food in the virtual world though, you have to do a run a few errands. Here’s how you can cook and find all the recipes you’ll need in Animal Crossing: New Horizons version 2.0.
Animal Crossing New Horizons: How to Start Cooking
First, you need to purchase the Be a Chef! DIY Recipes+ app upgrade via the Nook Stop in Residential Services. Afterward, you will unlock eight cooking recipes (for Flour, Sugar, and Smoothies) as well as the Stonework Kitchen DIY recipe. And that’s it! You can start cooking after you craft a brand new Stonework Kitchen for your home, or if you have built or brought a working stove then any existing kitchen or stove will do. Now all you need to do is look towards the “new horizon” for more recipes.
All Cooking Recipes
If you’ve purchased the Happy Home Paradise expansion DLC for Animal Crossing: New Horizons, you can get daily cooking recipes from the Chef at the Restaurant once you’ve built it. However, even without the DLC, there are several ways you can do to obtain new recipes:
- Getting the Be a Chef! DIY Recipes+ app for 2,000 Nook Miles.
- Buying the Basic Cooking Recipes pack for 4,980 Bells at Nook’s Cranny.
- Talking to your Villagers once a day.
- Catching various kinds of fish and sea creatures.
- Looking for Bottles on the beach.
- And shooting down Ballons.
