Nintendo dropped the update early!
Update 2.0 has arrived for Animal Crossing: New Horizons, and here’s the full list of changes and fixes added with this patch. This is the final major update for New Horizons, adding several highly-requested features to the game. The Happy Home Paradise DLC is set to release soon as well, giving players the opportunity to design dream homes for other villagers. The new addition in the DLC can be used in players’ homes as well, so there’s plenty to do in this update. Here’s everything new with Animal Crossing: New Horizons update 2.0.
Animal Crossing: New Horizons Update 2.0 Patch Notes
There are currently no official patch notes for Animal Crossing: New Horizons update 2.0, but Nintendo has confirmed several features in the most recent Nintendo Direct presentation centered around the game. Here’s what you can expect in this patch:

- Brewster and The Roost
- DIY Recipes can now be added to storage
- Crops (found in Kapp’n Tours and from Leif)
- Cooking and New Cooking Recipes
- New Items
- New Villagers
- More Amiibo Cards are supported on Harv’s Island
- New Amiibos Card supoprt
- Villagers can visit your home
- Polishing
- Group Stretching
- New Emotes
- New Fencing
- Pro Decoration License
- Pro Construction License
- New Hairstyles
- Island Life 101 App
- New Isabelle Announcements
- New DIY Recipes
- Updated Nook Shopping Catalogue
Although the 2.0 update has been released early, the Happy Home Paradise DLC will not be available until the scheduled release date of November 5. Once the DLC is available, you will be able to visit a new island and construct dream homes for several Animal Crossing villagers. The DLC also allows you to customize your home and the homes of villagers in new ways, such as hanging lights from the ceiling and placing partition walls to divide a room into sections.
Animal Crossing: New Horizons version 2.0 will be the final update for the game, so don’t expect any new additions once the DLC is released. We loved Animal Crossing: New Horizons, awarding it a score of 4.5/5 stars in our review. The game came out at just the right time, giving players an opportunity to escape to an island paradise when all seemed bleak.

Given the current circumstances, that goal has become more important than ever. And that joy seems to have been delivered, with the game succeeding across the board and allowing quarantined individuals a chance to experience a level of normalcy that only a deserted island full of animal villagers can deliver. So while we typically try to craft objective analysis of games with these reviews, it’s important to realize that Animal Crossing: New Horizons has arrived at the exact right time and in the exact right way.”
