Sadly, another event has fallen victim to the ongoing pandemic. On November 13, Anime Los Angeles announced via Twitter that it is rescheduling the Anime Los Angeles 17 convention from January 2021 to January 2022.
The event will be hosted at the Long Beach Convention Centre in Long Beach, California. According to Anime Los Angeles (via Anime News Network), the tickets bought for 2021 will roll over to the 2022 event for attendees and vendors. In addition, a special “ALA 2021” pin will be available to those who have initially purchased tickets for the 2021 event.

According to Anime News Network, Anime Los Angeles reached a record of 12,961 attendees in its January 2020 event.
The medium-sized convention was established in 2005. It celebrates anime, cosplay, and fandoms. They have described it as “a more moderate-paced environment where you can meet up with old friends and make new ones, while also offering an abundance of diverse programming to keep members busy and entertained.”
The Year of Delays
Many streamed shows, anime seasons, blockbuster movies, and gaming conventions have been delayed or canceled this year. For one, The Witcher Netflix series has been hindered by the virus twice already in 2020. The filming was paused early this March and then once again at the start of November. The Witcher’s second season is currently scheduled for 2021.
On a brighter note, the recent Demon Slayer movie broke records in Japanese cinemas.
