There are three types of main currency in Apex Legends used for purchasing Legends, cosmetics, and more. Crafting Metals and Legend Tokens are earned in Apex Packs and by leveling up, while Apex Coins can be purchased in the shop or earned in the Battle Pass. Some players report a bug that prevents currency from loading, being used, or being earned.
The currency bug can be identified in-game by a black or white bar continuously moving across the currency menu. If this animation occurs, players are reporting issues with earning rewards like Apex Packs, currency, and XP. Players are also not able to access the store, spend Apex currency, and currency values may be incorrect.
Currently, there is no guaranteed fix for this currency bug. The issue may be solved by restarting Apex Legends, reinstalling the game, or waiting 24 hours. If you are not earning rewards, try to keep track of any missing, and check back after reinstalling. If the currency bug is fixed, but your rewards are still missing, wait for 24 hours, or try checking with Apex Legends support.
The bug in Apex Legends preventing the currency from loading seems to occur more frequently during shop changes, but Respawn developers are usually pretty quick to address any issues. If a hotfix is released, Respawn will most likely announce it on its official Twitter, so you can also check there for updates.
