Less than a week after the end of the limited game mode for the holidays: Mirage’s Holo-Day Bash. Apex Legends and the team at Respawn have announced not one new mode, but seven! They’re calling it Grand Soiree Arcade Event with the ’20s like theme, lead by none of other than Pathfinder.  After a brief intro, they dive in, announcing 7 New Modes, but only two days for each mode! It looks like this event will be rotate heavy. It will run from January 14th to January 28th.

Gold Rush Duos

The first event is the Gold Rush Duos. This one is labeled as “Gold weapons only with you and a friend.” Only Gold Guns on a map? That should create plenty of high powered games.

Third Person Mode

Third Person Mode. Exactly what it sounds like, this is a big deal. This will take Apex Legends in a very different direction. I’d be curious to see how players end up feeling about the face-paced Apex from this perspective.

Armed & Dangerous: World’s Edge

Armed and Dangerous: World’s Edge. This mode takes place on the more recent World’s Edge map and will likely be very fast-paced. Limited armor with the most high powered weapons in the game will create for a crazy good time.

Kings Canyon After Dark

Kings Canyon After Dark. Arguably one of the least tweaked modes. This one looks to return us to the original map of Apex Legends. The only noticeable difference at the moment seems to be playing the map at night. This has happened once before during the Halloween limited-time event Fight or Fright, though I’m sure this will be vastly different from the former.

Dummies Big Day

Dummies Big Day. “This game ain’t gonna test itself.” By far, one of the weirder looking ones. It seems all character models have been changed to basic forms of humanoid dummies in bright colors. Meanwhile, it seems as though some are real and some not so much.

Live.Die.Live

Live.Die.Live “automatically respawn on living squadmates when the ring closes.” Didn’t kill the entire squad? Too bad, if the ring closes for the next “round” then the other one or two squadmates will respawn. That said, the smaller the ring gets, the dicier it will be on the return.

Always Be Closing

Always Be Closing, “keep on the move, avoiding big damage from a ring that won’t slow down.” No time to pick up that gun or that armor. Killed another player? No time to pick through the deathbox. It’s time to run! This mode might end up being the most chaotic one of them all.

Some Details, Most Kept Underwraps

Going to Apex Legends website, they’re keeping a lot of details under wraps. However, if this image on the page is accurate, the dates for each mode during the Grand Soiree Arcade Event are displayed.

Of course, there will be skins and challenges aplenty. It looks as though, according to their site that the challenges will be done a bit different. “Each limited-time mode will have three new challenges worth a total of 1000 points. We’ve tuned the system so that you don’t need to be there every day, but the socialites among you will also receive a special badge for trying every mode. And don’t worry, you’ll still be able to complete your battle pass challenges throughout the event too.” More points in this mode also equal more rewards! Unlike the more recent event, it looks as though the price point for the Grand Soiree and legendary skins is a bit more reasonable, stating a price point of $5.

Don’t forget to jump into the event starting January 14th and to end on January 28th. There will also be a Bonus Scoring Weekend, which will present an “additional set of event-specific challenges worth a total of 500 points.” This will run from January 17th at 10:00 a.m. PT and runs until January 20th at 10:00 a.m. PT.
