The popular hero-shooter battle royale Apex Legends is currently running its 14th season, titled Hunted. However, right now a huge number of Apex Legends players on PC reported that their game keeps crashing and encountering DXGI_ERROR_DEVICE error code. However, it seems this issue is only affecting a specific graphics card brand, namely Nvidia. Here’s how you can fix the DXGI_ERROR_DEVICE error code for the PC version of Apex Legends.

Respawn has officially acknowledged the DXGI_ERROR_DEVICE problem and the team advises Apex Legends players on PC with an Nvidia graphics card to update their drivers to the latest version. Updating the GPU driver should fix the crashing issue. In case you don’t know how to update your GPU drivers, here’s how to do it:

  • Open the Windows Start menu.
  • Search for Device Manager.
  • Search for Display adapters.
  • Right-click on your GPU’s name.
  • Select Update driver.
  • Wait until it finishes then restart your PC.

Otherwise, you can also use manually download them from a browser through Nvidia’s site or use the Nvidia GeForce Experience app to update your GPU driver. You can set the GeForce Experience app to automatically install any latest driver update as well. Here’s how to update the GPU driver through the Nvidia GeForce Experience app:

  • Open the Windows Start menu and search for GeForce Experience.
  • Or you can open the hidden icons list in your taskbar, right-click the green Nvidia GeForce icon, and then choose Nvidia GeForce Experience.
  • Click on the Drivers tab.
  • Press the Check for Updates text.
  • Click the green Download button.
  • Pick the Express Installation button.
  • Wait until it finishes then restart your PC.
