The limited regional launch of Apex Legends Mobile begins today. The mobile version of the hit battle royale game is still under development. However, this limited launch will help the teams gather valuable data before releasing worldwide. The Apex Legends Mobile regional launch is available for download from the Apple App Store and Google Play. The launch is only available in the following ten countries:

  • Australia
  • New Zealand
  • Singapore
  • Malaysia
  • the Philippines
  • Indonesia
  • Mexico
  • Peru
  • Argentina
  • Colombia

Updates for players outside of these ten regions will be made available as development continues. It is worth noting that Apex Legends and Apex Legends Mobile are on separate servers. With this in mind, cross-play between mobile and PC/console versions is not available.

About the limited regional launch

In this limited regional launch, the focus is on testing the game’s matchmaking and progression systems. As well as the in-game commerce, back-end infrastructure, and live operations capabilities. Player feedback on the different game modes, progression systems, and monetization is vital in the development process before going global.

The full release of Apex Legends Mobile is still a ways away; however, this limited test still provides plenty of content. Players can still experience the Battle Royale mode on the classic World’s Edge map. Players can also participate in Team Deathmatch, Mini Battle Royale, and 3v3 Arena game modes. Additionally, multiplayer clubs are available to join to gain the XP bonuses.

For this limited region launch, Apex Legends Mobile will feature nine Legends, including:

  • Bloodhound
  • Gibraltar
  • Lifeline
  • Wraith
  • Bangalore
  • Octane
  • Mirage
  • Pathfinder
  • Caustic (unlocked at Battle Pass tier 25)

What carries over, and what doesn’t

Like the PC and console versions, Apex Legends Mobile has a store with purchasable content. Also available for purchase are the Premium Battle Pass and PremiumPLUS Battle Pass. Both of the premium passes include bonus levels, XP, and other rewards. Any Legend skins gained through the battle pass will carry over into the full release. However, account progress and other unlocked items will be reset before launch. Any items purchased using in-game currency during the limited regional launch will be converted to an equivalent amount when the game launches.

Players in the listed regions can download the limited regional launch of Apex Legends Mobile now from Google Play or the Apple App Store. Depending on how many matches you play, you can earn a special badge, weapon charm, and banner frame that carry over into the full release.
