With the upcoming EA Play event happening Thursday, July 22, Respawn looks at the new legend, Seer, coming in Apex Legends Season 10. New legend Valkyrie was introduced as the new legend of Season 9, further tieing the battle royale to Respawn’s other series Titanfall. Season 9 also welcomed a new game mode in the form of Arenas, a permanent 3v3 deathmatch game mode. Additionally, the first bow weapon in Apex was added to the game, along with a map update to the Olympus area.

The latest season is setting up to continue the evolution of the acclaimed title with another swath of content. This upcoming Apex Legends season 10 adds the new legend Seer, the new Rampage LMG, and another map update. A new “Stories From The Outlands” animated short reveals the origins of Seer, who has glowing blue eyes that can turn a king into a beggar and an ocean to a desert. His description on the official Apex Legends site reveals a bit more about his abilities.

Seer’s abilities may be more about reconnaissance than action, though how it fares against Crypto or Bloodhound remains to be seen. Perhaps his eyes can see into loot crates or detect when enemies are fighting each other close by on the map? Seer also has an awesome hat, which could also play into his abilities or just look good with different skins. Regardless, Respawn will unveil all on July 22 during the EA Play event.

Apex’s growth beyond its battle royale roots may be further expanded with this upcoming year. If Fortnite is anything to go by, players are more than willing to try new game modes. Respawn has created an intriguing way to interest players in the greater lore of the game both within and outside the game space. With the addition of ranked Arenas, it could be a matter of time a mode like Overwatch’s Payload or Call of Duty’s Gun Game makes its way into Apex Legends.
