With the recent release of the “The Old Ways” cinematic, players of Apex Legends have been waiting to see what sort of event is in store. There was an event to go with the “Voidwalker” cinematic, so it only made sense. Today Respawn has delivered, offering a gameplay trailer of the event and revealing that it’s coming tomorrow, April 7th, for PC and consoles. The event will run until April 21st and shakes up the gameplay bringing new map changes, cosmetics, and more!
Starting, there’s a Town Takeover event known as Bloodhound’s Trials. This affects the northwest portion of World’s Edge with Prowlers roaming the area and centered around a nest. You and your allies will have to venture into this nest and take out the hostile wildlife. Be careful, though, as the rest of the legends will want to claim the loot waiting inside for themselves. Only the greatest hunters will live to tell the tale and take with them high-tier valuables. Other than the nest, the town appears to have changed as well. A redesigned mountain with many raven formations gazes on the legends, watching over their battles. You’ll also find much of Bloodhound’s home familiar here, which is exciting for lore fanatics.
It wouldn’t be an Apex Legends event without plenty of loot for players to get their hands on. The Old Ways Prize Track brings in weapon and character skins, backgrounds, XP boosts, and other various cosmetics for you to collect. It works similarly to the Grand Soiree event and recent System Overdrive event, in that you can earn up to 1000 points per challenge set. Hopefully, you can secure everything available, and maybe get the new Young Bloodhound skin available in the shop. Various other cosmetics will be available in the shop, too, to check out, so be sure to grab them whenever you can. They won’t last long.
And finally, a much-beloved mode is making its permanent return to Apex Legends starting tomorrow. Duos are coming back, allowing teams of two to be able to compete head-to-head for victory. Not only that, but map rotations will be part of it too. This will allow players to consistently play on both World’s Edge and King’s Canyon in both duo and trio modes.
Players of Apex Legends have a lot to look forward to in both the short and long term. If you’re playing the game, be sure to let us know how it goes and give us your thoughts. We love to hear about your experiences. Otherwise, stay tuned at The Nerd Stash for all your news, reviews, and more!
