“People love the Mac,” said Tim Cook on stage as he began talking about the new Mac line up. And the first product we got to see today was the new MacBook Air complete with the Retina Display, Touch ID, and a whole lot more.

The new MacBook Air comes in three new pretty colors and it weighs just 2.75 pounds, making it much more compact.

Internally, the new MacBook Air is powered by 8th generation Intel Core processors and can be configured with up to 16GB of RAM, up to a 1.5TB SSD. As we predicted, Apple has opted to add two USB Type-C ports and Touch ID for secure login. The base variant of the MacBook Air with 8GB RAM and 128GB SSD is priced at $1,199, with the higher-end version going up to $1,399.
