A video from Jason Momoa’s first day on set shows Aquaman addressing environmental issues and raising the stakes from the last film. “I have so much invested into it. I love this character. I love what it represents,” said Momoa. Aquaman 2 director James Wan dubbed the sequel a “movie that’s more mature, yet still retains its fun.” This was the part of the larger event – DC FanDome 2021.
What Did We Come to Know About Aquaman 2?
DC FanDome released a behind-the-scenes reel for Aquaman 2. In the reel, director James Wan and stars Jason Momoa and Patrick Wilson talk about the upcoming sequel. Regardless, the studio won’t make the video available to fans. On the set, Jason Momoa is seen in water tanks. There is no doubt that Yahya Abdul-Mateen II’s Black Manta is the antagonist. “It’s a globe trotting story” confirms Wan.
“Black Manta is still seeking his vengeance to try to kill Aquaman. That’s going to be something that’s exciting for the audience,” said the director. “It’s a globetrotting story. We visit so many different worlds. This movie isn’t afraid to embrace its fantasy.”
Amber Heard returns as Mera, Patrick Wilson as Orm, and Yahya Abdul-Mateen II as Black Manta. The original Aquaman hit theaters in December 2018 and earned more than $1 billion.
FanDome unveiled concept art and behind-the-scenes photos, as well as fight training drills.
