It’s our time to submerge into a new world with the incoming arrival of Aquatico. The game is now at a stage in development where players can finally check out the progress. Registrations are live for the alpha test sessions, which will occur from September 16 until September 18. Developer Digital Reef Games will be looking forward to hearing any feedback on Aquatico from the playtests via Steam.

Build Your Own City Under the Sea with Aquatico

We’ve built entire cities in the past with other titles, but now we’re taking the simulator underwater. That’s right, Earth’s surface has finally succumbed to environmental issues, forcing people to resort to the wet, blue world. But with new territory comes new challenges for the people of Earth to endure. Aside from the expected issues of rebuilding life, they also need to concern themselves with the mysteries beneath the surface.

The game is equipped with multiple features that any fan of city builders can recognize. For the Aquatico playtests, we’ll be able to experiment with the mechanics, resources, lines of production, layered construction, and grand sights of scenery. We’ll also be able to get a taste of the music for the game during these early playthroughs. To register, visit the Steam page for Aquatico to request access. Additionally, we’ve attached the alpha test footage from the game’s YouTube page that players can refer to when signing up.

Aquatico is scheduled for a Q3 2022 release, yet that window seems to be closing up. Therefore, we can’t anticipate when the game will officially launch, but we have the playtests to experience in the meantime. Aquatico is being developed by Digital Reef Games with publishing by Overseer Games, the team behind Patron, another city builder. Of course, you can always add the game to your wishlist if you don’t have the time to try out its alpha stage.

In any case, what do you think of Aquatico? Which city builder is your favorite? Let us know!
