Icarus is a multiplayer survival game that takes place on an alien world where humanity failed to terraform the planet. They wanted to alter the planet to be more like Earth but ultimately the exotic materials caused the terraforming to backfire. That being said, players may be wondering what sort of alien life exists on Icarus.

While it is an alien planet, players will not encounter many aliens. Icarus has plans to add two more chapters to Icarus in the future that will bring alien life and biomes. These later chapters will bring alien creatures and biomes to Icarus.

Alien Creatures

At launch, the only alien creatures in the game are worms. You can most easily find these inside caves where they will appear from their burrows and launch poison at the player. With additional chapters coming for Icarus, more alien creatures will be added to the game.

There is also a massive sandworm which is found in the desert region. Like the cave worms, this worm can appear and fire balls of poison at the player and strike at them. This worm is much more dangerous than the cave worms.

Other alien creatures will be added to the game with future chapters. For now, the planet must contend with creatures seen on Earth and the alien worm lifeforms.

Alien Biomes

At launch, there are only three biomes, none of which are alien. Currently, there are mountainous, arctic, and desert biomes the player can explore. With the additional chapters being released for Icarus, players will be able to explore alien biomes such as an alien jungle.

Currently, the only biomes in the game can be found on Earth. This means players will need to wait until future updates before getting to explore alien environments.
