Origin is a gaming client made by Electronic Arts. It’s where you’ll go to play games like Sims 4 and FIFA. It is very frustrating to try and run Origin, only to discover things aren’t working. You may wonder if this is a problem at the end of Electronic Arts. Here’s how to get to the bottom of server disruptions.
Why would Origin servers be down?
Origin servers are usually down when there is a temporary issue on the part of Electronic Arts. This can be due to multiple reasons, such as an update in software or too high a number of user traffic. No matter the exact reason, you can’t really do much about server issues other than wait for Electronic Arts to get things up and running.
How to check Origin Server Status
There are a few ways to investigate the server status of Origin. Twitter is a very useful tool for real-time information like this. You can also use Down Detector, which is a popular site for server issues. Here are ways to check if Origin’s servers are down:
- Look at the Down Detector site for Origin Status. Down Detector works by user-submitted reports, so make sure to report to the site if you are also having issues. Check the EA Help official Twitter account. They occasionally post when outages occur, but they are often slow to report. Type in “Origin down” in the Twitter search bar and hit the Lastest tab. This will let you see if other users are tweeting about an outage.
