Arma 3, an open-world realistic first-person shooter, is having a free week starting today. The title will be available in free-to-play on Steam from today until January 19th at 10 AM PST. After that, you have to purchase the title. This is an exciting time for Arma 3 players, with some fresh new faces and, more recently, some new content for them to look forward to. If you want to try the game yourself, you can by going on the game’s Steam page and clicking the install button.

If you happen to be a fan of the game after trying it, then you’re in luck! The base game is available at a 70% discount until January 20th, with up to 66% off the game’s DLC packs. Of course, you can get the full game and all its DLC for around $60, saving you $120 over the non-sale price. If you’re skeptical regarding what the DLC might entail, the free week will allow free access to Arma 3‘s Apex expansion. This expansion brings a whole host of new weapons, vehicles, gear, a warzone, and some new operations (missions). There’s a lot for you to try out with this game, and a lot that you won’t want to miss.

Want to know more about Arma 3 before jumping in? It’s a realistic military shooter developed by Bohemia Interactive, known for Arma’s previous titles along with its DLC. You play as a soldier, fighting across vast landscapes to secure victory. To do so, you must work with your team and communicate in one of the most popular realistic shooters to date. The game features a full campaign, a co-op campaign, and a host of multiplayer content. The game has been out for six years now and still is one worth sinking your teeth into. The game is available for both PC and Mac.

As always, this isn’t all that’s been revealed today. Bioshock: The Collection may be coming to the Switch, thanks to a potential leak. We also unveiled another episode of our podcast, which you can listen to here. Are you going to try Arma 3 this weekend? What are your thoughts on the game if you’ve already played it?
