League of Geeks is set to release a substantial update to Armello, it’s popular fantasy digital board game on February 26th. In the meantime, fans can try out the newly released Beta on Steam for Window PC, Mac, and Linux.

Community feedback is key to Armello’s v2.0 update. In other words, players will see complete overhauls to the front-end menu, multiplayer functionality, and architecture. According to the studio, this will be the largest update the game has seen to date.

The most requested fan feature is by far multiplayer reconnection. Something typically found in AAA games, Armello has thus far been lacking it. If a player’s connection drops, they will now be able to rejoin the match in progress. This feature will go hand-in-hand with the new intelligent Party Menu that makes it easier to set up games with friends.

The new Hero Mastery feature will offer long-term goals and rewards. For example, players will be able to level up their Heros and earn a large variety of cosmetic content. Some examples of the new content are Hero-specific chat lines, new animations and the ability to equip multiple dice skins.

Clan Grounds will introduce the ability to save Hero-specific loadouts including preferred skin, dice, and jewelry combinations. Furthermore, the jewelry box will enable players to house many of the game’s collectibles into one specific area. The box will also display all unlock conditions for any items that have yet to be discovered.

According to the studio, Armello v2.0 features enhanced visuals with more 3D cards, and an overhaul of the hero selection area, menus, UX and more.

“v2.0 is four to five times larger than any update we’ve ever done, even after supporting Armello with content and updates for over four years,” said Trent Kusters, co-founder and director, League of Geeks. “For the community that pushed us to keep improving the game, version 2.0 is for you. And for everyone else that hasn’t played yet: there’s never been a better time to start playing Armello.”

Armello is currently available for Mac, Windows, Linux, PS4, Xbox One, iOS, Android, and Nintendo Switch. If you haven’t tried the epic fantasy game yet, check out more information at the official website.
