The last season of Arrow will, beyond any doubt, be a tribute to the show. Arrow follows Oliver Queen (Stephen Amell) as he puts on a green hood and fights crime with a bow and arrow. The show has seen its up and downs and has a passionate fans base along with many who just don’t like it. No matter what your opinion is, Arrow did cement DC into the TV world.

The last season has a lot to live up to and will likely be a celebration of the protagonist and the show’s feats along its seven-year run time. The most recent trailer reveals some type of time anomaly, which will allow the show to revisit important moments from past seasons. This reminds me of how Avengers: Endgame used time travel as a tribute to different movies in the Infinity Saga.

Not only that but we will see the return of many characters we have lost. The trailer showcased Tommy Merlyn, Oliver’s best friend who died in season 1, Moira Queen, Oliver’s mom who was stabbed by fan-favorite villain Deathstroke, and Thea Queen, Oliver’s sister who left Team Arrow. Malcolm Merlyn is also set to return for the last season.

The trailer was aptly named “Sacrifice” and does not skirt around the fact that Oliver Queen will probably die this season. This is directly vocalized by Oliver himself at the beginning of the trailer.

He is apparently the key to the massive crossover event that will feature characters from The Flash, Supergirl, Legends of Tomorrow, Black Lightning, and Batwoman.  The crossover will also provide tons of fan service with Tom Welling reprising his Smallville role as Superman and Kevin Conray playing a version of Bruce Wayne.

Arrow Season 8 premieres on October 15th.
