Japanese sports shoe company ASICS has teamed up with Hasbro for their latest shoe unveil. These new limited editions G.I Joe shoes are inspired by the characters Snake Eyes and Storm Shadow.

They are colorways of ASICS GEL-LYTE III range which are sneakers aimed to mimic a classic 80s and 90s style. Clearly then a fantastic fit for G.I Joe, a brand that grew to huge popularity during the same era.

The Snake Eyes variant is black with white trim and red accents. Snake Eyes decor features on the Insole to add that touch of quality. The alternative Storm Shadow variant features white primary with black trim but keeps the same red accents around the edges of the shoe.

They are pretty nice looking and if you’re a fan of the series you’d be doing yourself a disservice to not at least considering picking a pair up. They aren’t particularly cheap, mind you. A new pair can be purchased over at Footlocker for $120.

A regular pair of ASICS GEL-LYTE III’s would cost in the range of $110 so the extra $10 isn’t actually too bad for a custom colorway design.

That’s not all avid fans have the option to pick up either. Both headgear company New Era and clothes distributor Hex are also making G.I Joe themed attire. You are free to have your own opinions on them but I’d say by all accounts they’re decent enough.

Hasbro’s general manager, Casey Collins, seemed happy to make the announcement as he said the following regarding ASICS:
